The chances of running into a shiny Pokemon is 1 in 8192! If you see one, make sure you catch it! Other than the color and sparkles, there is nothing special about them. Shiny Pokemon are very rare and can be found randomly in the wild. Once caught, you will be know to be the best person ever so start catchen em! Other Pokemon may be an entirely different color than normal. Their color may be a slight tint from their original color. Some Shiny Pokemon aren't that easily recognizable unless you see the sparkle when they enter the battlefield. Every time one of these Pokemon appear, shiny sparkles flash right next to them. They obtained the name "shiny pokemon" back in the Pokemon Gold & Silver days when they were first introduced.
Every now and then you may come across different colored or "shiny" pokemon.
